Strategy
An engineer specialized in Strategic Management, Mauro Pumar is an adjunct professor at FDC, where he works as a Scientific Advisor for PAEX (Partners for Excellence Program), in mid-sized companies, dealing with corporate project structuring, and delivering courses on strategy. Mauro brings a solid background in Finance (MBA at IBMEC) and Marketing (MBA at USP). He was also a faculty member at FGV – Fundação Getúlio Vargas, UNIFESO – Centro Universitário Serra dos Órgãos, and Petrobras, teaching subjects related to Management, Strategy and Quality. Prof. Mauro Pumar has attended cutting edge development programs in strategy, finance, marketing and quality at international institutions such as INSEAD - France, University of Chicago – USA, Kellogg Graduate School of Management of the Northwestern University – USA, Stern of the New York University – USA, University of Michigan Business School – USA, and programs with professors such as Michael Porter, Philip Kotler, and Aswath Damodaran in Brazilian institutions. Prof. Pumar uses practical examples in his classes, resulting from over a 30-year executive experience abroad (Engineering Director and Distribution Manager in the USA, Commercial Director in Japan), as well as in Brazil, in several areas such as Planning, Sales, Quality (TQC and ISO accreditations), Engineering, Supply chain, Communication, Maintenance, Shared Services, among others, highlighting the Supply Strategic Planning at Petrobras, encompassing all refineries, maritime terminals, pipes, oil tankers and the main petrochemical plants in Brazil. He was a speaker at the Downstream Asia 2010 Summit (Singapore), on Examining the Future for the Asian Downstream Sector.
