Strategy; Corporate Governance
Jairo Gudis is an adjunct professor at Fundação Dom Cabral, for the areas of Corporate Governance, Heirs and Partners Agreement, Family Business Succession and Strategic Planning. Jairo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Specialization Certificates in Business Administration (UFRGS/RS) and Capital Market (FGV/SP). He is also a specialist in Corporate Governance Board Leadership (IFC/IBGC) and in Alternative Dispute Resolutions (GCGF/IFC/IBGC). Prof. Gudis teaches for the Shareholder and Entrepreneurial Family Program (PDA) and for PAEX (Partners for Excellence) Program, and works as an Academic Advisor for custom projects in Corporate Governance. He has already taught Corporate Finance and Corporate Budgeting at UFRGS/RS, MBA Programs at PUC/RS and Unisinos/RS. He was also a professor at IBGC, teaching the module Board of Directors and Corporate Governance in the Member of the Board Certification Programs. Jairo Gudis held executive positions as CEO of Brazilian family firms and multinational companies, Senior Manager at PwC and Planning Superintendent of corporate groups. His area of interest and work is Corporate and Family Governance, Family Business Development, Corporate Education and Mergers & Acquisitions. Jairo is an independent member of the board of directors having held terms as President of the Board and External Board Member in several companies, mainly family businesses. He is a member of the Brazilian Institute for Corporate Governance (IBGC), certified as an independent board member. He was the co-founder of IBCG South Chapter, and of the Brazilian Institute for Finance Executives – RS Chapter. Lecturer and speaker on Family Business and Corporate Governance, Gudis has published numerous articles in journals in Brazil.
