Research Areas
Memory, Identity, and Identification in Organizations
This research stream investigates how organizational memory influences the construction and reconstruction of organizational identity, as well as members' processes of identification and resistance over time. Adopting a qualitative and longitudinal approach, the research examines how institutional narratives, discursive control mechanisms, and collective experiences sustain or challenge organizational identity, particularly in contexts of change such as mergers, acquisitions, and reputational crises. The findings contribute to understanding the role of memory in identity formation and member engagement, providing insights for organizational change management strategies.
Strategic Practices of Middle Management and the Interface with Top Management
This research stream examines the strategic practices developed by middle managers, emphasizing their influence on organizational strategy outcomes and their interaction with top management. The research seeks to understand how the relationships and behaviors of senior executives may enable or constrain the strategic role of middle management.
The research encompasses studies on microfoundations, decision-making processes, sensemaking, and influence mechanisms in strategy implementation contexts, contributing to both theoretical and practical advances in the fields of Strategy and Leadership.
