Paulo Resende

Paulo Resende is a Professor of Logistics, Transportation, Operations Planning, and Supply Chain Management at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC). He is also Director of FDC’s Infrastructure, Supply Chain, and Logistics Center and leads the Logistics Infrastructure Platform, a research initiative focused on transportation and supply chain development.

He holds a Ph.D. in Transportation and Logistics Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) and a Master’s degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering from Memphis State University (USA).

At FDC, he teaches in Professional Master’s, Graduate, Open Enrollment, Partnership, and Customized Executive Education programs. Throughout his career, he has worked with organizations such as Bunge, Ambev, Brookfield, TV Globo, Kraft, Randon, John Deere, Cargill, Vale, JBS, BASF, Fiat, and AngloGold, among others.

Professor Resende has also served as a Director, Consultant, and Faculty Member at IBMEC and as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois (USA). At Fundação Dom Cabral, he previously held the positions of Executive Director of Open Programs and Graduate Programs, as well as Director of the Knowledge Area.

He is a member of the Supply Chain Council (USA), a Capacity Committee Member of the Transportation Research Board (USA), and a Board Member of the Brazilian Logistics Operators Association (ABOL). In addition, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of DOM Magazine.

His areas of expertise and research include:

  1. Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with a focus on supply chain integration, efficiency, and competitiveness.

  2. Transportation Infrastructure and Logistics Planning, examining logistics networks, freight transportation systems, and infrastructure development.

  3. Operations Planning and Supply Chain Strategy, emphasizing performance improvement, resilience, and value creation.

  4. Logistics Competitiveness and Economic Development, exploring the relationship between infrastructure, logistics efficiency, and organizational performance.

  5. Public Policies and Investments in Transportation and Infrastructure, analyzing their impacts on productivity, regional development, and supply chain performance.
