Ettore Oriol

He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Government from FGV-EAESP and was a Visiting Scholar at the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University (USA). He also holds a Master’s degree in Administration from MADE-UNESA, a Specialization in Higher Education Teaching from SENAC-SP, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from FSA.

He is a member of ANPAD (Brazilian National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration) and the Academy of Management, where he participates in the Public and Nonprofit (PNP) and Research Methods (RM) divisions. He is also a member of Collab4Good, Fundação Dom Cabral’s research group dedicated to collaboration for addressing grand societal challenges, and participates in research groups focused on institutional capacity and the implementation of strategic planning in public management.

His research activities include international collaborations led by Professor Claudia Avellaneda at Indiana University’s Paul H. O’Neill School, focusing on women’s participation in national and subnational elections, as well as partnerships with researchers from Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, Spain.

As a researcher, he has published books, book chapters, and articles in national and international academic journals and has presented his work at major conferences, including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, IRSPM, EGOS, EnANPAD, SemeAd, EBAP, and CLAD. He has also served as an editor and reviewer for academic journals and conferences in Brazil and abroad.

At Fundação Dom Cabral, he worked as a researcher on the Imagine Brasil project, particularly within the Collaborative Governance research stream led by Professor Humberto Falcão Martins. His work focused on public management, applied research, institutional development of public organizations and government entities, and social initiatives through the Dom Serafim Social Center, contributing to the advancement of applied knowledge for the third sector.

He brings more than twenty years of professional experience as an entrepreneur and business owner. He has also worked as an Internal Auditor, a Public Sector Manager at Dataprev and SBCPrev, and as a consultant in public management, government, and human resource management.

His academic experience includes teaching in graduate programs at UERJ and IBMR University Center, serving as a content developer for YDUQS/Ensineme and Veiga de Almeida University/UniJorge, acting as a tutor at Veiga de Almeida University/UniJorge, supervising undergraduate capstone projects at ESALQ/USP, and serving as a permanent faculty member in the Master’s Program at UNESA-RJ. He has taught courses in Organizational Theory, Public Management, Research Methodology, Quantitative Methods, and Qualitative Methods, and has served as a guest professor in the Master’s Program in Public Management at IDP.

His areas of expertise include Public Management, Quantitative Research Methods, and the Implementation of Strategic Planning in Public Administration.
