Marcos Arias holds a Specialization Certificate in Business Administration, with focus in sales and Marketing from CEAG, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from EAESP/FGV-SP. As further training, he attended the Leadership Aventis Program - Columbia NYU, Rockhurst, USA; Finance and Economics Entrepreneurship - (Rhône Poulenc) - INSEAD/France; PDE/CTE (Executive Development Program) General Business Management, Finance and Marketing from Fundação Dom Cabral/BH, 1994. Marcos is an adjunct professor and scientific advisor for the program Partners for Excellence (PAEX) at Fundação Dom Cabral - FDC. He holds substantial professional experience in the financial area, controllership operational and strategic management (internal control, SOX implementation and relations with external auditing) and planning (annual budgeting and long term strategic planning), accounting and costs, taxation, the treasury, pricing, purchasing and logistics, IT and supervision of the legal area in pharmaceutical-chemical multinational companies. In the last 20 years, Marcos Arias has held executive positions reporting to the local CEO and the headquarters CFO in Europe (Paris/Frankfurt) and USA (Philadelphia/RPR and Pittsburgh/PPG), at companies such as PPG Industries (2007-2011), Sanofi- Aventis (2001-2006), Rhodia Farma (1982-1999), among others. Substantial experience in strategic planning, especially in merger and acquisition processes (due diligences), selling of businesses/companies and business restructuring and development. Relevant experience in leading and coordinating governmental relations projects, covering commercial, pricing, foreign trading and regulatory aspects, representing the company’s interests (lobby) before all-level government representatives, in order to enable medium and long term operations and partnerships with the public area. Marcos Arias was full professor at Business Administration Schools (Fundação Lusíada/Santos 1979 to 1981, and Paulo Eiró/S.Paulo 1987 to 1990). He is also certified by IBCG as a Member of Administration Boards (2013) and is a Member of the Investment Committee. ICSS Certified since 2011.
