Research Lines
1. Memory, Identity, and Identification in Organizations
This research line investigates how organizational memory influences the construction and reconstruction of organizational identity, as well as the processes of member identification and resistance over time. Adopting a qualitative and longitudinal approach, the project analyzes how institutional narratives, discursive control mechanisms, and collective experiences sustain or challenge the stability of organizational identity, particularly in contexts of change, such as mergers, acquisitions, and reputational crises. The results contribute to understanding the role of memory in identity formation and member engagement, providing insights for change management strategies.
2. Strategic Practices of Middle Management and the Interface with Top Management
This line analyzes the strategic practices developed by middle managers, emphasizing their influence on organizational strategy outcomes and their interface with top management. The project seeks to understand how the relationship and behaviors of top management members can enable or inhibit middle managers' strategic actions. The research encompasses studies on microfoundations, decision-making processes, sensemaking, and mechanisms of influence in strategy implementation contexts, contributing to theoretical and practical advancements in the fields of Strategy and Leadership.
