Mankind has increasingly positioned itself as regards themes that challenge its future, such as climate change and inequalities within and among nations. Thus, organizations are being called upon to manage ever more responsibly.
An organization’s responsible management takes into account not only a company’s own sustainability but also that of the people who work there and of the systems that involve it. Moreover, consumers now use this criterion when making their choices. It is also an important condition for obtaining loans and a differentiating factor in international Stock Exchanges. This puts into practice the demands put forth by society for organizations to take a broader look at management and to harmonize fundamental instances: economic prosperity, environmental quality and social development.
Preparing the solution
The solution must take into account the theme’s cross-sectional aspects within an organization and it must range from strategic to operational levels. Sustainability can be either a stage within other educational solutions or an organization may opt to build a specific program for it. The solution takes into account the strategic challenges in the context of the business within which the organization is inserted, as well as its capacity to balance its responses to the different audiences it relates to. By achieving such a balance, it is possible to build an educational solution that is guided by values and practices that seek the organization’s sustainability in accordance with the indispensable sustainability of its surroundings.
