Fundação Dom Cabral International Advisory Council
About the Council

Fundação Dom Cabral has mobilized its International Advisory Council to enhance brand recognition and broaden its international network, as well as to help formulate and implement its internationalization strategy. The IAC is composed of 85 members from all around the world, representatives from business, academic, public and nongovernmental sectors, who share an interested in Brazil and its future. The members gather once a year for the Annual Meeting, in which they discuss topics relevant both to FDC and to the executive education field.

The chairman recommended of the IAC is Professor Donald P. Jacobs, Dean Emeritus of the Kellogg School of Management.

The goals of the FDC International Advisory Council are:

• Establish a high-level network of business leaders, as well as the academic,
public and non-governmental sectors, who are interested in Brazil and its future;
• Connect FDC to international references;
• Guide the development of the strategic vision of FDC.

Since 2009, the IAC has had four meetings. The first, second and the third were both held at the FDC Campus in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais. The first meeting, in 2009, was mainly focused in Sustainable Development. In the second meeting, 2010, the council members met again for a Dialogue on Sustainable Development and to discuss the New Directions in Latin America Foreign Relations and the challenges facing corporations in the second decade of the 21st century. In August 2011, the IAC held its third meeting in São Paulo. The main topics of discussion were Growth Perspectives for the BRICs and the risks, challenges and concerns regarding the emerging countries.

The forth IAC meeting happened again at the FDC Campus in Nova Lima, on September 30th and October 1st, 2012. The agenda included an update on the Brazilian economy with the participation of members of the Brazilian economic authorities, a round table on the challenges facing society in preparing future leaders and an open discussion on FDC business model and operations.
