Fundação Dom Cabral gains a position and becomes the 5th best business school in the world.
The new Financial Times Executive Education ranking also shows that FDC is 3rd place in the customized programs for companies.
This year Fundação Dom Cabral went from the 6th to the 5th position among the 50 most important business schools in the world, according to the 2011 Executive Education Ranking, published by the English newspaper the Financial Times. For an idea of how much we evolved, in 2009 FDC was positioned in 13th place.
Another highlight for FDC is its position in the so called customized programs, which are created to meet the specific needs of companies: we are now in 3rd place. In 2010 FDC had the 8th position in this category, and in 2009, the 16th. As for open enrollment programs, the school now occupies position number 10 – in the past we were in 9th and in 2009 13th.
“This recognition is the result of the participation of all of those who help build the history of the Fundação Dom Cabral, and it is also the recognition of the maturity of businesses’ commitment to the training of the corporate world and to sustainable development”, says Emerson de Almeida, founder and Dean of the FDC. Almeida is in his last term as FDC’s Dean. In 2012 he will assume the chairmanship of the new statutory board. “To close this round of my career ahead of a worldwide recognized institution such as this is one of the most gratifying things that could have happened”, he says.
The Executive Education Ranking (The Top 50 schools), released annually by the Financial Times, is comprised of the combination of two lists: open programs – intensive programs focused on specific business management themes and offered to the executive market of different companies – and customized programs – developed to meet the specific needs of companies. In both cases, 80% of the evaluation takes into account the opinion of participants (Open Programs) and client companies (Customized Programs). The remaining (20%) is evaluated by the Financial Times with the quantitative data provided by the business schools. In this ranking, that classifies the 50 best business schools in the world, FDC occupies the 5th position.
